They finally found a suitable use for this odd building that was a useless white elephant for many years. Now a major cultural institution. Watch for special expositions on the subject of film. They are terrific. Lots of films shown here.

This is a must see for any cinephile! It isn't very large, but that didn't keep us from looking at every single piece of equipment/costume/replica. We spent about 2 hours here, including the bookshop (which was mainly stocked with French books) I actually took notes,...More

The museum is in an early Gehry designed building which, outside, is showing wear and needs a bit of a clean. Apparently it was not intended as the home of French Cinema but its first use failed shortly after it was opened in 1994 and...More

This took a bit of work to figure out the best Metro trip to get here, but was really worth it. The museum portion has a really good history of the evolution of motion pictures. With a free audio tour included in the 5€ price,...More

I am a film geek and love old films and film history. Consequently, I spent way too much time here. :) (Yet still left wanting more.) There is no way any one museum can tell the entire history of film, to include so many wonderful...More
