If you are a fan of either drag or a good time search no further. This place is perfection. The cabaret's walls are lined with history. Sophia Loren... Liza Minelli... the list goes on and on. Dim lights, shoulder to shoulder with strangers that become part of your experience... Then you witness the trailblazer, Mr. Michou. Someone that was doing this long before it was mainstream. Anybody on here complaining about lip syncing obviously know very little about the art of drag.
I've love drag for quite some time and this place does not disappoint. It is pure camp. Comedy at it's finest and I work every weekend in a comedy theatre back home.
The food was good. They accommodated my vegetarian diet and the wine was delicious.
I cannot suggest this more. Our server was fantastic and the entire staff only cares that you are having a good time. We did. Along with Crazy Horse this was the highlight of our trip.
Neither my companion and I spoke enough French to know what most people were saying, but it didn't matter. This was a good time regardless. Such wonderful performers.
The absolute best.

Chez Michou, the name of its 88 year old creator and owner is a parisian classic. A transvestite cabaret which opened 63 years ago and has been full everyday since.
Just go and understand why!
Special mention to Michael Jackson, Patricia Kass, Vanessa Paradis, Celine Dion...They were as good as real..

Perfect night and perfect show! We had a blast from the beginning to the end. Nice speech by Michou himself. The place is small but cozy. The waiters (Les Michettes) were also performers. The food was good and amazing service. The show was touching, hilarious and fun. Thank you Michou and Les Michettes, it was amazing and would definitely come back!

This was a huge waste of money. Only go here if you are into all French Lip Syncing Over 60 Year Old Drag Queens. That is all this is about. We were told it was a fun cabaret and recommend by two people. It was so bad I fell asleep and we left early. They all lip sync. It is all drag. It is all in French. They are all over 60. It is a huge waste of money. Please avoid this. Beyond disappointed.

We had visited here 15 years ago when it was a smoky pit but wanted to visit again since Michou is now about to be 85 in June, it is now smoke-free, and also Michou may not be too much longer! I am exactly 29 years younger and pointed this out to him when we entered for our photo.. They take one when you enter and more perhaps later at the table and then try to sell them to you for 10 € each before the show! We splurged and did the "MENU MICHOU - 145,00 €
Formule Dîner Spectacle" This comes with a half bottle of champagne per person. Based on my math, this means that the 145€ includes (45€ for the show, 15€ for the seating, 33-35€ for the half bottle of champagne, which leaves about 50€ for the dinner). You are not going here for the overpriced dinner or champagne but for the show so since it's a once every 15 year treat for us, we're glad we did but won't do it again! We had an older waiter who was also later in the show. He was amusing! One of the waiters wasn't in the show and mainly led the audience and directed traffic heading to the bathroom or out for a smoke! We arrived just before 8 pm (20h) and were one of the first to enter. We had to check out coat/sweater (no charge for this except tip) and then sat on each side of Michou for the welcome photo. Our waiter (in eye shadow and make-up), another waited in make-up, and the "male" waiter stood behind. We were seated across from each other in the 2nd spots from the stage at the table in the middle. Michou was 10 feet (3 meters) in front of us at a corner table between the entrance and the serving stations. The food was ok but nothing special. We bought at bottle of flat water for 8€ since nothing was complimentary (no tap water as at most places in Paris). At the end, they brought the bill for the water since I had prepaid the 290€ on-line when I made the reservation! I had to go to the bathroom and wanted to beat the crowd out so I handed the check and 10€ to one of the guys in charge, but he didn't want to take it. I said "voici" and headed to the bathroom since I wasn't going to fight the crowd to get back to my waiter! The show is supposed to start at 10:30 (22h30), and I think it did, but it went on and on and on and didn't end until after 1. I was tired and just wanted out by that time. We had bought the one picture with Michou earlier which the photographer ladies presented and sold between dinner and the start of the show! Even though I speak French, it was hard to follow along because I didn't know many of the songs (or at least the French words). There was also a lot of slang French which was difficult to understand. If you are French, (that is know the songs and understand the argot), if you are prepared for a long show that ends after 1h, if you don't mind paying triple for a bottle of champagne, if you want to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, etc., then visit here, but you'd better hurry. I don't know how much longer Michou can be propped up-and who knows what will happen afterwards...It's was worth a visit every decade or so!

Chez Michou was recommended by a Parisian in a shop when I mentioned going to the Folies Bergere. "Oh, go to Michou, you'll enjoy it much more," she said. She offered to call for me and I ended up being seated at Michou's private table!
The venue is small, cozy but what a lively atmosphere. The mirrored walls are covered with celebrity photos. Many of the waiters are performers in the show and it's fun to try to identify them once made up as female impersonators. The dinner was very good and service is prompt, friendly and gracious. The show is witty, naughty, hilarious and very professional!! Michou himself takes the stage at the beginning of the show and welcomes everyone. His other table guests were celebrating a birthday and two of us ended up on stage singing!!! It is a great evening solo (as I was) or with a group. And there were families there with teen agers who all seemed to enjoy it too! Don't worry about not being able to speak French---humor, comedy and satire are the same in any language. Highly recommend a visit!

Chez Michou is authentic french cabaret. If you want to experience a taste of Parisian nightlife, then you need to visit Chez Michou. The show it self is fun, even for a non-French speaker. The waiters become the entertainers - as they're phenomenal female impersonators.Michou himself is an absolute delight, very friendly and made us feel at home.I would definitely recommend a visit here if you have an evening free. Great fun!

We do not speak much french but really enjoyed Chez Michou. Once inside this fully mirrored room - it is a tiny venue we enjoyed a three course meal with wine followed by a show which was superb, OK the intro by Michou we didn't really get and one talking comic act - however the other 9 or 10 impersonations were fabulous. We would go back!

Very tinny cabaret but enjoyed it all.
Food was good, staff are amazing as they are all involved in the show after dinner.
You must speak French for most of the jokes during the show .
Great for an evening with friends, but not sure for a repeated thing .

Chez Michou is a show for French people. Not only because only french is spoken but also because the content of the show -jokes, comments, etc.- refers to French stuff.
The experience is like going to a cabaret show in a very small place, all the tables against each other with plenty of french people enjoying and laughing at every comment -that we didn't catch at all-, and a very very small stage. Beyond the french speaking part, the celebrities imitations were very good -some of them great-. Also the drags' customs were very professional.
The food was regular… to bad.
This is really a different experience that cannot be compared with the Lido or the Moulin Rouge where you'll find many dancers in a huge stage. This is a different thing. Very local i would say, very for french people.

bonjour, je pense que le spectacle n'est pas du tout malsain, et que vos enfants ne seront pas choqués, les michettes imitent des chanteuses et des humoristes, je n'ai rien vu d'incorrect pour ma part; je vous souhaite une bonne soirée.
