Lives up to its reputation as one of the most charming streets in Paris. Of course there are many charming streets in Paris. But if you find yourself near the wonderful 7th, do not miss Rue Cler.

We love open air food markets and this pedestrian street is one of the best. We had purchased some meat and cheese at a grocery for snacks but the quality of food on Rue Cler is worth it. Many shops have been there for three generations. We bought bread, cheese macaroons, and sausage. Everything was fabulous. We would go back but we also found great products at the Friday market in Versailles. Highly recommend.

Rue Cler should be Rue Très Cher. The french are nice people and don't deserve their snobbish reputation...unless you're on this street. I tried to take a picture of a business owner chatting with a patron and was chewed out for not asking permission. I tried to buy macaroons and was told by the business owner (different person than picture-gate) that I shouldn't buy them as a gift unless I was giving them to the recipient tomorrow...I got schooled on "freshness.". The street was pretty dead. Maybe because people are sick of all the snobbery. Stay away. It's nothing but people who live in a bubble and are so exclusive that you will get the vibe immediately.

We decided to visit Rue Cler after reading all the reviews. Unfortunately, we were very underwhelmed and found it to be totally overrated and overpriced. The local markets are equal to or better for shopping for fruit, vegetables, cheeses, breads etc. The restaurants seem to be a better attraction and have a reasonable buzz about them. Ok to visit if in the area but not worth making a special effort to go there.

A charming street to stroll through. Julia Child did her shopping on the street. Lots of shops, cafés, and markets.

A cute and charming street in Paris. I enjoyed browsing the area and also popping into the independent shops dotted along the way.

Loved it. So charming. Definitely worth a stroll. My husband had strawberries from one of the fruit stands and said it was delicious. We ate at Le Petit Cler and that was good too.

One of the most charming areas in all of Paris. Its small and quaint. The many food locations are all great. A great bakery, restaurants, ice cream, fresh produce, and candy shops as well as other types of businesses within a few minutes of walking make this a very special place.

We walked along Rue Cler after having our meal at Cafe Roussillon - it was nice to be pedestrian only - nice shops, mostly food related, since it was May 8th a number of shows were closed. There was more cafes along this street, including Cafe du Marche which seemed very popular but the TripAdvisor reviews were not great. Before we knew it, we came to the end of the street.
