Some complain that the 8th Arrondissement including Champs-Elysees has lost some of its charm with the influx of chain stores and restaurants. It's just to agree.

This arrondissement will certainly keep you busy and is probably worth visiting both in the day and night. If you can't do both, I would recommend at night with all the lights everywhere it is truly magical. Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee, Winston Churchill statue,...More

We have visited Paris quite a few times but it is so iconic to stroll from the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs Elysee to Place de la Concorde passing the Grand Palais and Petit Palais on the way. Visit La Madeleine and St Augustine...More

Around every turn it seems like another beautiful spot. Great place to take pictures or grab a bite to eat.

This district would have to be the best for sights, entertainment, shopping and dining. Always busy and fast paced. Lots of choices for hotels within walking distance to major attractions like Moulin Rouge and the Louvre with access to many and varied restaurants, sidewalk cafes...More

Great to visit and Terrible for living. Too noisy at night. Too many bars and drunk people. Better and easier to sleep in other areas. Champs Elysees is a classic but don't eat at the avenue, so expensive. Walk 5 minutes away from the avenue...More

So much to see in this district and so close too many Paris landmarks. Loved being close to Champs d'Alysee and also the river.

I feel that the 8th is best represented by the huge La Madeleine church (see separate review) however many reviewers quote other highlights such as Champs-élysées (true) and Arc de Triomphe (on the western border) Either way is is a beautiful arrondissement 1879.
