With the Eiffel Tower at its core, the Invalides area of Paris is guaranteed to impress. - Ana VEugene, Oregon610 contributionsThis is a must when visiting ParisThis is where Rodin lived for most of his life and it is filled with his work. It is a beautiful house and garden. Look for The Kiss, Age of Maturity, The Thinker and The Gates of Hell (last two are outside). The Gates of Hell have an interesting story.Visited March 2023Written 7 April 2023

- Ogi0Sofia, Bulgaria20,971 contributionsNice museum with a superb gardenA nice museum dedicated to the art of the sculptor Rodin. Besides his sculptures, there are also things by Camille Claudel , as well as a few paintings by the most famous impressionists. There is also an extremely impressive garden filled with sculptors, as well as good coffee in it. We didn't have pre-purchased tickets but there was no queue and we got in straight away. Fron the garden there is a nice view of the Palais des Invalides and a part of the Eiffel Tower.Visited April 2023Written 21 April 2023
- AuswaySydney, Australia111 contributionsIt's more than you thinkWe had a simple lunch of fruit and nuts in the Gardens beside "The Thinker". Students were enjoying the serenity as they studied literature - perhaps inspired. Wonderful sculptures of a man not always admired - full of ideas and inspiration.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 May 2023
- jpcheshire1615Wilmslow, United Kingdom495 contributionsRodin's sculptures in a garden settingThis museum presents a good number of Rodin's sculptures in a conventional indoor museum setting and in a beautiful garden. On a sunny May morning when the roses are just coming into bloom the latter is unbeatable. I found myself focusing on the strength of the hands in Rodin's figures and the sense of movement that he creates. It is a great place to visit and a soothing contrast to much of the busy city.Visited May 2023Written 23 May 2023
- Steffen KDurban, South Africa295 contributionsContrasting emotive sculptures in a mellow garden setttingDramatic sculptures contrast with the peaceful garden setting. These emotive works of art capture a perspective of major figures of French culture giving new ideas on the development of French history. Lovely gardens (although the grass was drying out) but the roses are lovely. Café and toilets are useful! Costs 13 euros but worth it.Visited June 2023Written 4 June 2023
- D468Gold Coast, Australia43 contributionsInteresting visit in a nice neighbourhoodPros - crazy talent and beautiful (limited due to cinstructions) gardens Cons - half of the gardens are under constructions. The audio guide is an extra €6 each which is the dearest we have had in all tourist attractions. When you get the guide they just hand it out to you without explaining how to use so make sure you ask.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 June 2023
- sassymomma566 contributionsQuick visit was plenty for usDid a quick visit to see the Thinker and a few other of Rodin’s works. We had already spent a long day walking so my teens were thrilled with the nice garden walk that wasn’t very big and a quick look at the first floor. We hit the ones my kids wanted to see. Easy to get to from the Metro, beautiful museum.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 July 2023
- Katie H36 contributionsLovely visit to the Rodin museum! This museum is wonderful! The inside houses loads of sculptures and paintings and is really easy to navigate. There is so much to see! The outside is also fantastic, with more sculptures situated in extensive gardens. My partner and I really enjoyed the experience and I would highly recommend it! It isn't as busy as some of the more well-known museums such as the Louvre or the Musee D'orsay but it is well worth a visit and probably deserves more recognition.Visited July 2023Written 9 July 2023
- nctraveler315Winston Salem, North Carolina169 contributionsInteresting MuseumWe enjoyed this museum. We did not know a lot about Rodin but his sculptures are amazing. The building does not have air conditioning, so just a warning, it can be warm, but it was not miserable. Take the time to walk through the garden and see all of the works in the garden. There is a small cafe to stop and have a glass of wine and relax.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 July 2023

If you are a lover of sculpture, then you will not want to miss Musée Rodin. It’s more than worth the visit to see Rodin’s designs, models and paintings as it is to see his finished—and well known—pieces. This visitor was not aware of how many of Rodin’s sculptures originated in his La Porte de l’Enfer—particularly Le Penseur. If time allows, visit the museum on a dry day as so many of Rodin’s bronzes are in the surrounding gardens. Not to go unmentioned are the works by Rodin’s student, inspiration and lover, Camille Claudel. She was much misunderstood in her life, largely because she was a woman in a “man’s” profession, but I found her work equal to her teacher’s. In many ways her work is more fluid than that of Rodin. I was particularly impressed by her L’Âge mûr or, as I like to translate it, Ripe Old Age. Nuff’ said. The works of Rodin and Claudel make for a fascinating and rewarding visit.

Nice museum including a big exposition of Rodin's operas, both sculptures and paintings.
There are also some Van Goghs and a painting from Monet.

I recently visited the Musée Rodin Paris and I was amazed by the incredible sculptures, casts and exhibitions. It's a great place to experience the culture of Paris and learn about the works of the legendary French sculptor Auguste Rodin. The museum is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in art and culture!

No crowds, friendly temps. If you go, take time to look at the faces on the sculpture pieces. This presents a whole different perspective. Don't overlook the Burghers of Calais

What a surprise! The images of Rodin are so popularized in schmaltzy ways that I have never visited this museum. But for my son having read an excellent biography of the artist, it was top of his list. And he was right. The tree-lined grounds and atelier/house are a refuge of peacefulness that show the iconic pieces to stunning and poignant and, yes, private advantage. All the great works are there, many in later castings as is well-known. But the ensemble and preliminary sketches of The Burghers of Calais are reason enough to visit. An added benefit is that the crowds were small; the untimed tickets turn out to be convenient. I came away convinced.

The Musee Rhodin in the Hotel Biron exhibits the iconic works of the master sculptor both throughout the lovely gardens and within the classic mansion where he once lived. Located in the heart of Paris it is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and houses the world famous “Thinker” ( Le Penseur ) in the garden along with a gift shop with many replicas in various sizes. Well worth a few hours time.

Really enjoyed this museum. I would not call it a must do, but on a nice day the gardens are well worth a walk around with the thinker and other fine statues to enjoy. Inside of the house you get a walk through the journey and life of Rodin's work. Its well worth going to see. We did a double ticket with Musee d'Orsay and walked between the two - great value.

If you buy the combined D'Orsay + Rodin ticket can you go to the D'Orsay any time without quing? Even on Thursday evening, the late opening? The website says something like that. I will not have time for queing.

The que for D'Orsay was not too bad. I would say to go there earlier in the day since it does get more crowded. It has an incredible collection and more enjoyable than the craziness of the Louvre. The Rodin has no que and also a fantastic collection. It takes much less time to see than D'Orsay.

Do you need to make a timed reservation at the Rodin if you have a Paris Museum Pass? The d’Orsay’s site you don’t need to there, you can skip line without reserving at a certain time, but I don’t see anything on the Rodin site saying either way.

Hi Kronie10, I visited the museum a few months ago, booking through the website as part of a joint ticket with the Picasso Museum. When I booked, I didn't have to choose a time. I think as long as you have a ticket, you'll be able to enter the museum straight away. Any queue to get in is likely for those who haven't pre-bought a ticket but the museum is already busy.

We want to get the combined ticket for orsay+rodin. Does this combined ticket give access to both the sculpture garden and the musee rodin? I couldn't really understand it on their website so i'd be happy if someone could clarify this. Thank you!

Alguém me pode ajudar?

We had the hotel concierge purchase our tickets each morning. Both of these are smaller museums. They are great museums! However they don’t get the same crowds as The Louvre or Monet Gardens. We didn’t purchase any online tickets. Sorry I couldn’t answer your question directly. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip.

Don’t recall seeing lines for the museum as I stay near it & passed it several times daily. However i was there in late May this year & early October in Autumn. I agree w/ above reviewers comments too. This museum has great garden & Cafe area. You should then walk to Rue Cler and eat @ Le Petit Cler. Also recommend Picasso museum early in morning & hang in Marais district. Go early to Picasso & enjoy MarAis district. Lastly I just discover this cool area in the 19th that was my favorite part of Paris. Not touristy, very cool. You can contact me through Trip Advisor if you want exact location and restaurant info. Enjoy your trip. Paris gets crowded but if you go off beaten path it’s much more enjoyable.

On the website, they say you cannot carry backpacks into the museum or store them in the cloakroom. Does this mean that you can't visit the museum if you have a backpack?

We had small daypacks, and I don't believe that we had to check them at the Rodin. We did have to check at other museums, like the Picasso.
