Centuries ago this was apparently one of the great churches of Europe, demolished during the revolutions. The much more modest replacement is from the early 20th century and not very interesting, but the cyrpt with the St Martin reliquary is worth visiting if you happen...More

If you are in Tours this is a must see. This is one of the starts of the Camino de Santiago. The basilica is beautiful. There is a great view of the scull of St. Martin.

The Basilica is somewhat austere inside, not as ornate as many others in France, but it has an interesting history and is worthwhile to visit. The exterior is impressive and well preserved. It can be reached quite easily on foot from the old town square.
