Open every day of the year ! The medieval fortress dominates the village with its austere facade. But don't be daunted: the open drawbridge is an invitation to enter into the refined lodgings of a great lord. It is the most fully furnished castle of...more

Unlike the other castles this one is more 'dark' and not so shinning. But it's well kept, the rooms are well reconstructed and the guided tour was good. More like a castle in the usual meaning of the word

this is a very nice chateau built in a medieval style and offers visitors inside rooms as well as outside gardens, located in the centre of the town

Well worth the admission price. Very well presented rooms, which give you a real feel for the castle in medieval times, as well as beautiful gardens to walk around. Allow at least 2 hours to properly visit this chateau.

Truly brilliant. Brings history to life. Decorated and furnished throughout as it would have been in the past. Dogs are allowed inside which is lovely. Other places could learn from this magnificent Chateau.

We visited six châteaux during our trip and enjoyed Langeais for it's medieval decor. There were laminated info cards in each room in a variety of languages, and the grounds were lovely. Also a great visit with children - we received an activity booklet that...More

Great house - not nearly as busy as the bigger chateaux. Medieval, with some reconstruction of original features. The battlement walk gives great views over the town & river. The gardens are pretty & well kept. The whole thing is dog friendly. The village is...More

One of the better chateaux, right in the heart of the town, with parking close by. Self guided route is easy to follow and the explanations are brief but to the point. The “wedding party” and costumes are a revelation. The gardens are worth the...More

We have visited most of the Loire Valley castles and each offers something unique. this château is in the charming village which shares its name and is less visited than most of the others. Langeais was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. For history buffs, this...More

5 mins - but with all respect you could have looked it up on Google maps, it's what I did and it took no time at all to do!
