Overview
More
The treasure of the museum lives in its spectacular collection. Indeed, the museum houses an impressive collection of vehicules of all kinds, including the oldest specimens which date from the early twentieth century: cars, lorries, motorcycles, bicycles, tractors, farm equipment, and even aircrafts, boats, tanks, and guns from World War II. You can also discover unique models such as the "Boutin" or "Benjamin" motorcycles or the type XI monoplane built by Blériot to perform his channel crossing. The museum also houses impressive machines such as the "Fountain" turbine which drove the mechanism of the huge waterwheel of the old mill, located inside the museum. Some of the mechanisms of these machines are still in operating today. Numerous knives and firearms can be found as well as several unusual items like unique wax heads of condemned people, or a mobile guillotine dating from the Revolution

A HUGE collection of anything mechanical, agricultural related machinery in the last 200 years, meticulously documented. It's on romantic river banks. Has a decent restaurant on site.

Maurice Dufresne must have collected every piece of machinery, car, truck, motorcycle, etc. that he could find. Some wonderful examples of early machines. The museum goes on forever and is worth spending the time to poke along and see everything. It sits in an old...More

Others have already said how wonderful and eclectic a mix of exhibits are displayed here. It's a lifetimes work of an avid collector who wanted to preserve machines from the past for future generations to enjoy. Every thing from early Tractors to tanks plus the...More

Can't add a lot to the other great reviews which, I wish I'd read before we visited and then we'd have given ourselves several hours to do it justice. It's huge! We were there about two hours late afternoon and really didn't do the second...More

A fascinating collection and well worthwhile taking a couple of hours to visit. It's not all about tractors. There's everything from 17th century weaving looms through cars and planes, a mobile guillotine(!), engines, water wheel, it goes on and on - in fact the walk...More

Worth it for the tractors alone, this fascinating collection has something for everyone. At least 2 hours needed to get round the entire collection. I was particularly impressed with the pre WW1 equipment and the portable guillotine is a Must see.

Maurice Dufresne collected thousands of items for his collection. On arrival we hired an audio guide for 1 euro. This was quite useful as long as there wasn't too much background noise. The first exhibits are mainly static exhibits of steam locomotives and agricultural engines,...More
