Nice but missing something
Sep 2020
Yes, it's a quaint, picturesque and touristy village but apart from the little river walk, there is nothing special about it. The art galleries sell mostly rubish and don't have a link with the artistic past of this village, but that's ok for us.

A germ, a must see, what a beautiful village!
Jul 2020
Such a beautiful village. Every step looks like a postal card. We've been amazed by the beauty of it! Elected in 2020 at "number 4 most favorite village of France" by the French (there is a annual competition), and it really deserved it. We walked in the village, bought biscuits at the "Traou Mad" (tastefull things in breton) biscuits shop, went for lunch (lots of choice), went to to the museum, walked again, went to the see the chaptel afterwards at the top of Pont Aven (by car, we were tired), what a great and beautilful day!

Beautiful Pont Aven
Sep 2019
Our group of travellers from Canada visited Pont Aven, the village of painters. This little village is filled with character:it boasts the school of Pont Aven with such artists as Paul Gauguin and Emile Bernard to name only two. There are fourteen water mills and fifteen bridges in the town. Take a walk along the riverside, one of the loveliest walks that you will ever experience. The river runs alongside the village and is lined with colourful shrubs and plants all year long. In the downtown there are various galleries and shops. A must visit if you are in this region!

Beautiful place
Nov 2019 • Friends
This is a beautiful town to visit. Unfortunately it was raining on the day that we were there but it would be glorious in the sunshine. Definitely a great place to visit.

Crowded in season and even out
Sep 2019
There's a lot of history here and it surely has been discovered. The center has lots of interesting shops, restaurants, galleries and cafe's. It even has a couple of local biscuit shops that offfer samples. Fortunately, most of the tourists come in by bus so there's nots a ton of traffic but do watch because those 21 centrury big busses have to negotiate donkey cart sized roads which can get a little dicey.

Our fourth visit
Sep 2019
Luckily the town doesn't appear to have changed, and again as we have quite a large Camper Van, the free parking really helps. I would recomend anyone to visit.

Walking the river route
Sep 2019 • Friends
A visit to this old village of strong stone buildings would have been lacking if we hadn't chosen to follow the river out of town and then reverse our steps to walk from the center towards the big boulder chaos upstream. On the other hand, following the river gave us a pleasant as well as exposure to some quaint and curious medieval buildings. Particularly old water mills.

Far too busy & congested
Aug 2019
The town is stunning, picturesque, beautiful and gorgeous. BUT it is way toooo busy with tourists and worst of all - Traffic!! I could smell & taste the fumes and it triggered my asthma very fast. Parking is a nightmare and there is far too much traffic. Way too may people, too.
The shops are great, lots of good galleries for those looking for original art. Every view is a stunning picture. but totally spoiled by the overwhelming number of people and vehicles. This small town needs a central pedestrianised area to improve a great deal. Until that happens, we'll be staying away.
