Saint-Sauveur Basilica dates back to 1123, but over the centuries it has been added to, and is now a composite building. At the end of the 15th century, architects added two Gothic transepts and a choir to the earlier Romanesque basilica. Inside look up and...More

Must be one of the most beautiful Basilique we've visited. As we had to travel to Calais the same day we visited early it was so serene no one else was in there at the time although there were a lot of candles burning. The...More

Cathedrals can do no wrong IMHO. This is yet another one that completes Dinan. Free entry. Beautiful exterior and beautiful interior. Visited late afternoon and not many people roaming around.

Enjoy the architecture of this gem - it's not symmetrically built. The stained glass windows are updated and the nave is bright. Lovely English style gardens would make a lovely place to picnic. There is a great view from the church grounds, too.

Huge cathedral with many beautiful stained glass windows and small alcoves and altars. Main altar is set forward of rear wall so it’s possible to walk behind it.

So lovely to still be able to lit candles in this ancient church. Old glass and frescos inside. This church is still being used today by parishioners.

Nice example of a fairly early Gothic church. Not fancy, somewhat squat and sturdy like the Bretagne people. The stainglass windows tell the story of Anne of Britney and there is a touching window commemorating the lost of World War I.
