Hi-tech tour of the history and culture of wine. Not everything worked but still worth the visit. I particularly enjoyed sitting down at table to overhear an animated virtual reality discussion and watching Mozart play hits by the Rolling Stones while being served champagne by...More

If you have a detailed knowledge of the wine industry then you will find this a bit dull. But if like wine with little knowledge then it could be very educational. Was in and out in an hour.

Approach it from either the boat that stops on and off the river; or on the tram heading to La Cite. Intriguing multi-media displays, with buttons to push and mini-cinemas to sit down to. The interactive exhibits work really well - good to consume better...More

This place was cool! It was very interactive and modern. We got the Belvedere upgrade to get an included glass of wine at the bar and the views of the city were great! My only disappointment was in that because it was so interactive, some...More

This museum covers every possible aspect of wine you could think of, history, culture, traditions, scientific processes, growing and of course tasting! The museum itself relies on the use of personal audio systems, essential to get the best out of the interactive displays. It is...More

(See Musee du Vin review) an amazing building and a great view from the tasting gallery. Only worth the 20 euros if you plan on studying for 2 hours or more.

We were not sure because of some uneven reviews, but we enjoyed the Cite du Vin. Very interactive exhibits about wine making and the history of wine trade. Although I consider myself fairly knowledgeable, learned quite a few things! We also were lucky that we...More

La Cite du Vin is where you visit to learn and appreciate the culture of wine worldwide. Being at this place is the equivalent to a Vatican City visit for Christians. Comprehensive and wonderfully designed; well worth the visit.

Nothing pretentious at all, the while experience is very enjoyable and relaxed. If you plan to eat in the restaurant you do need to book in advance and midday is best to enjoy the views. Food cost is around €50 per head.
