With prices this high it's no surprise that most don't pay. The service is really not worth but unfortunately unavoidable for some.

We have been going to Manchester for years, yet this is the first time we’ve used the metro. As we were staying at Salford quays, we caught the metrolink into the city. Ticket machines are easy to use and the map above gives a good...More

There is a extensive network and many easy to get to stations. However, it can be expensive. Staff are rarely at stations. Trams are modern though and do have cctv.

I have been using the metro for many years, however I have to point out that it is severely overpriced for the service that is offered. On peak is ridiculous and even worse is before peak time as I have often waited over 25 minutes...More

It might be as well to go to a TFGM(not GMPTE any more). Travel shop at Piccadilly gardens, Shudehill interchange, Wythenshawe Bus station or Stockport bus station amongst other places.
