This pub features on the cover of Manchester Pubs - City Centre and is in my mind one of the most iconic pubs in Manchester. Attached is the painting done of The Peveril for the front cover of the book.

Firstly, the interior and exterior of this pub is excellent, a real traditional Mancunian pub surrounded by the new builds of the 20th century. The "average" rating is based on the widely differing levels of service we experienced on visits in November and February. Both...More

Beautiful old pub with lots of historic features. The tile work on the outside is stunning. Friendly atmosphere inside with separate snugs surrounding an island bar. Pint of Mancunian was lush. Proper gem.

This was my third attempt to actually get inside this Manchester institution having been thwarted by the pubs erratic weekend opening hours on previous visits and have had to satisfy myself with just enjoying the classic green exterior tiling. I understand they have relaxed the...More

Such a nice traditional pub, it would be sad if we'd have come to Manchester and not had a pint here. We had one of the quaint little rooms to ourselves for a chat after a long day of working away from home, it was...More

Standing out with its green-tiled exterior only slightly spoilt with the neon Guinness sign. Inside 3 rooms and a corridor curved around the bar. Lovely place with bar games such as pool in one room and bar football in the main bar. Dark wood topped...More

Really good small, traditional pub with good range of beers (they had a fruit porter on as one of the ales when we were in) and good service/friendly locals. Total architectural gem with amazing tiled exterior and old wooden interior. Great inside or outside seating....More

A one-of-a-kind exterior to the pub and also really liked the way that they had set chairs outside. My pint of Landlord was tasty, the atmosphere was good. It is always a treat to go to historic places like this.

Very unusual to find a friendly no frills pub. Small cosy and very friendly, small beer garden where you can admire the tiled exterior.

I’m sure they’ll be fine with that. It’s a really relaxed place - but why not phone them first?

They were all very friendly - I was concentrating more on the beer selection than other drinks but I'm sure you'll find something to slake your thirst - as well as a a great welcome
