Had a nice walk around the lake with our dog and she was pleased to see the ducks and swans. Sadly one end of the lake is full of litter. Public toilet. Playground for young children. Mainly clean. Friendly students on their lunchbreak.

A big open park with a few surprises along the way. Plenty of grass and open areas to let your kids run riot. Further on a large boating lake and 2 swing parks and to top it off a BMX & skate park. Worth a...More

Lovely for a walk in the warm weather, nice addition of the Fashion Museum too - great to pop in and have a look around.

Regularly go this park to run as I live within a 5mins walk. The paths in the park need work during these winter months. On some days, some paths are completely covered in 3in of water (Southerly path). The authorities have attempted to fix these...More

In a big city like Manchester, the Platt Fields Park is just an oasis of calm, peace and tranquility. In the midst of so much hussle, this is truly the Eden of Manchester. Must-visit for anyone who loves Manchester.

This is a great place to just sit back, relax and soak up the lush greenery. The sunken garden is particularly pretty. Gives the phrase 'peace and quiet' a whole new meaning. How to get there: from (downtown) Piccadilly, take any bus heading to Didsbury...More

I live by this park and my garden backs onto the park. We bought our house loving the fact it's so close by. Sadly there are some visitors who disrespect the park and spoil it for both residents and other visitors. In summer months many...More

This park is not bad for BBQ but not the best for families or someone looking for a decent park, I usually go to Birtch field park (5 minutes walking from Plattfield park) as it is better for families.

The space itself is nothing exceptional: worn out fields, old playgrounds and a decent lake. But for many South Mancs this park is full of happy memories: playing with friends, picnics, BBQs... This is a space best enjoyed with friends and loved ones.

Hi, not sure if it's locked at night, but I went for a run about 06:15 one weekday morning and it was open . Cheers, John.
