Many different types of art on display. A few L.S. Lowry as you would expect in Manchester. However the work in Manchester by another Artist Adolphe Valette is moving as it does really capture pre-war Manchester.

Located in front of Prince's Hotel the gallery is full of art sculptures and drawings. In the ground floor you can buy postcards with the same picture as the drawings.

I'd highly recommend coming here to kill an hour or so, especially if it's raining outside and you need to get inside. It's free, so you can't complain. Some of the art work is stunning, and the actual building is aesthetically pleasing too. I wouldn't...More

I love this gallery as the exhibitions are always varied so there is something for everyone. I also like that the permanent collection is altered. We met some really interesting visitors when we were looking around, that shared their enthusiasm and views on the paintings,...More

Inexpensive way to kill 30 minutes. I would not go out of my way to visit here. If your walking by walk in, otherwise skip it!

Usually a wide range on display. I love this building and the way this gallery is laid out, it’s not so big that you get gallery fatigue but it’s big enough to spend an hour or so if not longer. The exhibitions always seem to...More

One of those places that mixes old with new, but in a bit of a confusing way! Nice old building and interesting extension. The nordic exhibition was the saving grace, otherwise not a great deal to make you linger

Walk if the weather's nice - 15 minutes top. But the tram is a wet-weather option.
