Highlights include a T.rex and fossils of other pre-historic creatures, ancient Egyptian artefacts and live amphibians and reptiles. A great way to pass an hour or two. Lively and interesting and a good cafe too.A 20 minute walk from Central Manchester & also near the xcellent Whitworth Gallery. All free.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this museum. My 4 year old absolutely loved it!! Dinosaurs were good but she really enjoyed the live section of reptiles and frogs. Volunteers are so knowledgeable too.

Highly recommended for anyone with a lively and enquiring mind, anyone interested in history, anthropology, and culture. Especially interesting Egyptian section.

There is a dinosaur next to the shop as you walk in and then Stan the t-rex is in the main bit of the museum and is an absolute joy!
