This is a very prominent cenotaph in the centre of the city. In the middle of the cultural quarter but also an attractive monument.

Can't miss it due to its location and size. Its well maintained (as it should be). Larger than most towns monuments.

As cenotaphs go, this is in a prominent position in the heart of Preston. A suitable memorial where locals can remember those who fought for our liberty

The Cenotaph commemorating the Soldiers of Preston who fell in the great world wars of 1914-1918 & 1939-1945 is an excellent example of a fitting tribute to them. Always well looked after throughout the year.

For me this is as impressive a cenotaph as can be seen in many a city and it's cared for throughout the year not just in Novembers. It's also a thought provoking place throughout the year and deserves it's dominant position in the main town...More

Although it is in the middle of the city centre the cenotaph is tastefully respectful but doesn't have anywhere to sit for quiet thought.

The cenotaph is Grade I listed and surrounded by buildings that are equally as beautiful as it self. It is a poignant reminder of those who lost their lives and the centre piece of the flag market.

What more is there to say? Sitting between the two ancient markets and in front of the beautiful Harris on the edge of town. Commemorating the many who fell and accessible to all who mourn.

Just outside the Harris museum, and recent cleaned up and refurbished this is a lovely spot to sit and ponder life (and indeed sacrifice) on the many benches around it. The main annual poppy day event for Preston is held here each year.

As Cenotaph go ,this a good one, made out of a beautiful white stone it's in the centre of the city just off the flag market it's quite peaceful, but it is in a pedestrian zone. Before you visit it do some research to make...More
