Considering the incredible feat that Captain Webb made, his monument is now sadly of little note in his home town.

Fantastic to read up on Mathew Webb and to visit his home village to where he came from. Beautiful monument that exemplifies his important`s to this town but the monument itself could do with a little more care. Found the water features around it being...More

It's main interest is about Matthew Web, the first man to swim the English Channel. Other than that there is nothing special about it; just another civic memorial!

A nice tribute to are very own Dawley hero. It's just a shame that not many people see it as should, as Dawley is on the decline. Now the proposed threat of no market in Dawley even less will see it!

It is well made and attractive looking. A lovely monument to a well known local man. It's a shame he drowned in another country.

There is a hero in every town, here's one. It's an amazing story what Captain Webb achieved. For an unrecognised town this changes all that, vibrant, rich historical facts. town.

Understated and not advertised. A poor show for a Great Man. Dawley could display the significance of a Superhuman feat. As a few of us know Dawley is the intellectual neucleus of the known Universe.
