At this year's remembrance service a wreath of ceramic poppies made by Tom Piper was dedicated and presented to the cathedral to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, well worth going to pay your respects.

High quality Cathedral worship in a beautiful setting. Light and airy building unlike many cathedrals. Also good venue for other events including The Life of Brian (film) and Vivaldi 4 Seasons (Concert)

Derby's cathedral is not one of those huge gothic spaces but is light and has a feeling of space thanks to large, mostly clear, glass and white painted walls. It became a cathedral in 1927, up to which date it was the town's parish church....More

Unlike other cathedrals we have visited, this cathedral is so light as nearly all the windows are clear glass - none of the heavy stained glass which is a feature of many old churches. We really loved the Bakewell wrought iron screen which floated like...More

In 2000 we were married here. Its such a bright airy space. It was a good place for a wedding. I also used to sing in the Voluntary Choir and enjoyed the excellent acoustics along with the majestic sound of the organ.

What a beautiful peaceful place to visit, just stepping in from the busy street to this calm, bright, welcoming place is wonderful. The lady who explained about the Cathedral was knowledgeable and so very nice.

There is no entrance fee but a donation box. i believe there is a charge if you want to do the tower, i couldn't do it at the time due to a service being conducted.

We found it, very inviting, and everyone could sit where ever they wanted, they even supplied tea/coffee and biscuits. The pillars where not a problem.

Hi. I'm a keen amauter photographer, and love taking photos. Lots of them. I have found that when you are in the UK you can take photos of most places, but no flash photos. I took a lot of photos in the Cathedral.
