We visit the Mercer several times a year. It is a nice Gallery which is always worth a visit. It has good and varied exhibitions. They quite often have a John Atkinson Grimshaw on display definitely worth a visit

Certainly worth a quick visit - 30 minutes should suffice. Interesting English artists. But a nice chance to take a break from the cafes and shops.

We regularly visit the gallery. They have a good selection of exhibitions throughout the year. It’s not a huge gallery but It is definitely worth a visit and of course it’s free,

This used to be the town hall but has been converted into an art gallery. Friendly staff and some great pictures (we saw the 'From today, painting is dead' exhibition. I particularly liked the two paintings by John Atkinson Grimshaw.
