The Yeats' building is quite attractive. If you are prepared to look around, you will find out some things you may not have known about Yeats, who was Ireland's first Nobel Prize winner in literature (1923) Although the display is small, the entry fee is...More

On arrival at the Yeats Memorial Building, we were a bit confused at the minimal exhibition. We had a look around the gallery upstairs and were about to leave when a lovely gentleman asked us if we were visitors to the area and were we...More

The memorial itself was closed for renovation the day that my wife and I visited, so I cannot comment upon the memorial itself; I certainly see that it obtains mixed reviews. However, I have to comment upon the Lily's & Lolly's Cafe on the first...More

Fortunately we didn't visit Sligo just for the Yeats Memorial or we'd have gone away sorely disappointed. The building is in a prime location right in the heart of Sligo and it has got a fair bit of space inside, but whatever dead hands in...More
