Kilkenny was our 3rd stop in our Heart of Ireland tour sponsored by "Rick Steve's". Here we picked up a local guide for a walking tour of the Medieval town. Great guide.

This tour leaves from the tourist information office each day at 2pm. The tour guide Pat is a local who clearly cares about his city and knows a great deal about it. The tour is very good with a lot of local information and history....More

This walking tour with Pat Tynan is excellent. It brings the history of Kilkenny to life. Pat is very knowledgeable but also takes account of the interests and questions of the people on the tour. It’s an authentic experience and you feel like you’ve had...More

We went on a small group - just us - tour. Pat was extremely knowledgeable and gave a great introduction to the history of Kilkenny.

Pat Tynan's walking tour was the least interesting walking tour we've done anywhere ... and we've done lots. He displays no enthusiasm for the subjects he speaks about and, to top it off, speaks barely above a whisper. Just awful.

We met at the Tourist Info center and it was lightly raining (not a surprise!) Our tour guide showed up and it was just my wife and I. He waited five minutes to see if there were any other late comers then said, 'let's go.'...More

Pat seemed like a nice guy who knew his stuff. We had two friends who didn't want to be on the tour and acted like jerks. Not being disruptive but not paying attention at all and walking way ahead of the tour. The rest of...More

Our small group of five essentially had a private walking tour from the Alms House. We were able to park in a parking garage nearby and toured the Medieval Mile in central Kilkenny. Our tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, and open to questions with...More
