My biggest regret from my tour of Ireland is that we only gave ourselves a day to do the ring of Kerry, when we could have easily spent a day just in this section of the drive. Muckross Abbey, house, Ross Castle, Torc waterfall and...More
The National Park is very varied and very scenic, mountains, hills, lakes, rural countryside, oak woods and mixed wooded areas. Well worth visiting and spending time cycling, walking or driving as well as pony treks.
We booked a bike tour in the visitor center and the bikes directly opposite the visitor center. The bike rental had actually very good bikes! The tour started at Ross castle by boot (1.5 hours). Our ferryman was an older guy who really loved telling...More

We went on a hop-on hopp-off tour bus so we didn’t have a lot of time at the waterfall. We were told that if we “climbed the steps” we would miss our ride back. So unfortunately didn’t get to see the top of the waterfall but it was pretty down at the lower sections. If I ever get a chance to go again, I would love to trek to the top. It wasn’t very crowded and that was in the middle of the day.
