Oscar Wilde is looking at the male stature bust, with a sculpture of his wife near by, across from the home where he lived. Set in a small park

If you are nearby it is interesting enough for a quick stop, but to me it is not something you go out of your way for...unless you are a fan of Oscar Wilde.

Located in the corner of Merrion park, the statue shows him slouched and leaning back on the corner of a rock, showing some attitude. Worth a look and close to Trinity and Stephens Green. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

A group of 33 of us spent just a few minutes here and the history of Mr Wilde is.... wild, to say the least! Great facial expression from either side. Small statue of his wife, under which are some wonderful sayings attributed to Oscar. His...More

Had some time on our last day of five days in Dublin so we stopped by Merrion Square Park to see the statue to Oscar Wilde. From what I have read about him, this captures his essence very well.

If you’re in the area of the statute, definitely stop by. It’s a remarkable sculpture with colored stones carefully carved to make a uniquely vibrant sculpture. And reading the Wilde quotes on the two adjacent monuments is a hoot and a good lesson about who...More

Just a really comical relaxed statue of Wilde at the park looking across the street to his childhood home.

Great statue with many of Wilde’s famous quotes nearby. This is located in a corner of lovely Merrion Park and Wilde’s childhood home is across the road along with many lovely Georgian mansions in the vicinity.

It's a wonderful statue with marvelous photo opportunities in a terrific park. There are columns with Wilde quotes nearby that make you want to rush to a library or bookstore and read more of his work.
