You truly capture a sense of the hidden Ireland when you accidentally stumble upon The Stag’s Head. This is probably Dublin’s best preserved Victorian pub - and everything here is of authentic Victorian origin. Take time to look around and savour the sumptuously carved Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops. Visiting the Stag’s Head is a wondrous experience wether you call when the premises is cosy, warm and glowing at night time, or in early morning when this is old repository of liquid culture is radiantly illuminated by wafts of sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows. The mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern, being long and punctuated by exquisite partitions that divide into private compartments or stalls.

This is the perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere when it's sunny out and there's a band on outside.

Great pints in a stunning environment. The Victorians knew what they were doing and they don't make boozers like this any more: amazing mirrors and ceilings and of course, stunning stained glass windows.

Stag's Head is not only a typical Irish pub but also a popular venue for stand op comedy, every week! Had tons of laughter there and highly enjoyed the mixed, international crowd at the heard of Temple Bar!

Excellent price for food & drinks with lovely atmosphere. The bartenders over there are really helpful: if you're unsure what to get at the bar, just ask for a recommendation - you won't regret! It's a pity that kitchen closes at 6pm, else it'd be...More

It's hard to distinguish one pub from another in Dublin once you have been to a bunch, this place stands out a bit though. It really has some great character and charm. Definitely worth stopping in for a pint or two.

An old, authentic pub that can get crowded. Nice decor and friendly staff. We had tasty burgers and fries in the pub, and their prices are quite reasonable.

They are very efficient and manage to get food and drink to people pretty quickly. Dont expect a hostess and a wait list. You go in and find yourself a seat. Someone will find you and take your order.
