Booterstown marsh was created when they built the railway from Dublin to Kingstown. it is a freshwater bird sanctuary. But, what is great is that it adjoins the sea so when there you can watch seabirds and the freshwater birds. There were two Herons there...More

I have often travelled through Booterstown on the DART without stopping to have a look at the reserve and on the day that I stopped off to have a look fog started to descend on the whole area which was a great shame. It is...More

You can take the DART to this lovely place or walk along the Rock Road from Merrion Gates to get there. It's close to, but miles away from, the hustle and bustle of the busy road. We saw a beautiful Little Egret there and Snipe...More

It's not a nice park, it's just a pond where birds migrate. No parking facilities. It's by the sea but nothing spectacular. Unless you are an ornithologist with a specific interest to the types of birds there are. Visit Blackrock park for a walk instead.

I would recommend locals or tourists to take in Booterstown marsh while taking a nice walk along the bay, down to Blackrock and Monkstown along the strand and perhaps too, to take in some of the Irishtown reserve. I have had some great memories from...More

A stop at Booterstown while traveling south by train to see first hand the sanctuary was a bit of a disappointment. A bevy of interesting birds around, and on, the water, which is an artificially created pond. However, there is not much more here except...More

There is no centre or any real facilities at all apart from a few benches, small information board and a concrete path along the end of the sanctuary. On a nice day would be relaxing and the location is good but I don't think you'll...More
