I learned a lot about Ireland's history and the Easter Uprising on this tour. A fascinating window into Irelands' past. It's pretty easy to get to from the city center - several bus lines come out this way. I took the 25A out and the...More

Unfortunately, I was pretty tired from travelling when we toured Kilmainham Gaol. As a result, I wasn't able to mentally absorb as much of the history as I would have liked. That being said, visit this gem when you are rested and able to fully...More

The Kilmainham Gaol has been converted from a brutal prison to an informative museum. We took the full historical tour and learned a lot during exploration of the dark cells, passageways and labor yards where political prisoners, violent criminals, debtors, and young children were once...More

This was a very good tour. Good information of Irish history. Very interesting to see all the old cells and the way criminals were treated. Be sure to get tickets ahead of time online.

I would think ten to fifteen minutes by taxi depending on traffic. Ask the taxi to take you by the river as much as possible and you will enjoy the drive. Hope this is helpful.

The tour itself is one hour. You are asked to arrive 15 minutes before your tour begins and you are directed to gather in a courtroom. Then your guide comes and calls your tour time. If you want to browse the museum... More
