We arrived on a lovely warm day, adding to the whole experience. You need to visit the information centre to get tickets for the shuttlebus to the castle, passing bike rental on the way. Some people were sitting at picnic tables enjoying their food. In...More

This national park is a hidden gem. If visiting north Donegal, this is a must. Stunning scenery and plenty of interesting walks. There is a visitor centre with a rather good cafe/restaurant (and not too expensive either) and an interesting exhibition on the history and...More

From the visitors centre was there a nice walk to the castle. When you return you can take a bus. The walk is easy, also for wheelchairs or caddys. Just follow the lakeshore.

We spent half a day here with our 4 year old daughter and could have easily spent longer. The tour of the castle was worthwhile and very enjoyable. We spent the rest of the time eating lunch in the tea rooms and walking around the...More

We took the shuttle from the Visitor Center to the Castle so as to explore from there. We did not take the Castle tour as most visitors were doing but spent our day away from the crowds by walking the trails. We began walking through...More

Amazing views driving in and around the park. You can walk to the castle or take a shuttle bus. Very good tour in the castle can get a little cramped if its busy.

This is a strange, but beautiful and unusual national park. Its history begins in the mid-19th century when a terrible land owner threw 244 people off their land in the midst of a potato famine so he could build his own summer estate. The area...More

Yes get the shuttle buzz to castle and head from there out the trail. Lashed rain for whole walk. Didn't bother me though. Enjoy
