The mead was fantastic but the food was mediocre tourist fare. Let me admit to being a Medieval recreationist, so I am a bit jaded. The entertainment was good though and I would have loved to have seen more of the castle itself.

Our CIE tour group had a medieval banquet at Knappogue Castle, and it was one of many highlights of this great trip. I had low expectations, thinking it might be super-touristy with mediocre food--but in fact it was wonderful. The food was excellent, the atmosphere...More

Went with a group of 12 for dinner and the show. The staff are first class the food is not. The show was entertaining and the service was top notch. My issue was the food. For what you pay it’s not worth it. The castle...More

My wife, 6-month-old son, in-laws, and brother and sister-in-law recently spent 2 nights in the castle. The castle is closed for tours due to limited interest in the area, but they do host medieval banquets and over overnight stays. You can book through AirBNB to...More

This is a beautiful castle. Unfortunately for today for some unknown reason this beautiful place was closed. Real pity as I would love to have visited the castle inside.

Yes. You can book the castle over night. You should read my review of our stay in the castle. The only way to book the castle is with AirBNB. Book early so you can get the date you want.
