I was looking forward to see another castle during my visit in Ireland, and I actually didn't expect to see only one wall standing there - still impressive and has a great history. I simply wouldn't call it a "castle" cause it isn't.

Stumbled across this site as we were in Carlow to research our ancestry. Not much left of the original structure but it has beautifully maintained grounds with plaques with its history.

There is not much remaining of the Castle, but you can still have a walk around the ruins and there is a bit of a view of the Barrow! If your in the area, its worth while have a look.
