Linlithgow is known for this spectacular well that stands in a square at the entrance lane to the palace. It has gone through many trials and tribulations with only luck ensuring its survival. The interpretation of the statues, etc is well worth taking the time...More

A rather handsome monument right in the centre of Linlithgow. A good landmark for the turning up to Linlithgow Palace. Plenty of intricate carvings, all adds to the charm of this small town.

Dining in a nearby cafe, I was able to enjoy the view of this gorgeous well. I couldn't help but imagine how many people in centuries past stood at this well and made a wish.
