Lots of information boards on the way and a visit to museum recommended too. Lots of places to stop for coffee/tea or a meal on the route.

Regardless of the time of year, the harbour is a great place to wander along, unwind and escape the rat race. Highlight for us is buying a bag of chips and sitting watching the sun going down behind Arran (ice cream in summer). Loads of...More

A lot has been done to improve the Fullarton (Irvine) Harbour area and it has plenty to recommend it, not the least are the Irvine Maritime Museum, Harbour Arts Centre and the Ship Inn. A great place to go for a walk, watch the ever...More

Arrived at 11.00 with the cloud just breaking but the wind picking up. Lots of free parking all down the harbour and several car parks down by the beach with great access. Walked down the harbour and into the park around the boating pond. Lots...More

Weather permitting well worth visiting, the harbour is calming, with its peaceful beauty, it is therapeutic and relaxing.

Yes I know the harbour side has it critics but we like a stroll along here. On a sunny day it is very nice to sit and watch life go by. Further along at sun down there can be amazing sunsets.

I go to Irvine beach most weeks, it's certainly not a run down place to avoid. The magnum is definitely a run down looking building but it's closing and the new one opening at Irvine cross is half built and should be opening 2016. Irvine...More

Irvine Harbourside is well worth heading to for a stroll. While there is still work to do, there have been some nice improvements to this quite picturesque part of Irvine. We regularly attend gigs, shows & exhibitions at the Harbour Arts Centre or just stroll...More

This seems to be a walk beside a dilapidated former port for Glasgow which is now so run down that it truly is a place to avoid. Find somewhere nice to spend time as this is not it

We immensely enjoyed exploring the Irvine Harbourside on foot. There is a trail map at http://irvineharbourside.org/heritagetrails.php . We began at The Carter and His Horse monument near The Ship Inn. Information signage and a harbourside map at the Carter monument plus parking nearby make it...More
