About
Glen Moray is a small authentic working distillery with bags of atmosphere and real people going about their business – making whisky. We offer a range of distillery tours and tastings as well as a coffee shop and gift shop. Our Visitor Centre includes a small coffee shop serving light lunches, homemade soups, cakes and biscuits. Enjoy a bite to eat before your tour, relax with a tasting after your lunch or just pop in for a cup of coffee. In the summer months our outside seating area allows you to enjoy a bit of fresh air with a whisky or even a beer. Dogs are welcome in our outside seating area.

So 5 adults and 3 dogs went to this distillery, the main distillery was closed but the shop and cafe was open.

We all ordered a hot drink, lunch and desert with 7 Whisky drams (2 flights) we got all this £70.

The staff were amazing and the food was amazing!

The whisky tasting was one of the best tasting whisky I have had and also the best value I have had. I got to try the value of £210 whisky for £10.

If this is the only visit you can do I can’t recommend it enough.

I've been on several tours by now and was half kicking myself for signing up for this one. (Malt, water, yeast, blah, blah, blah.) But for £7 including 2 tastes I thought why not. Well, I actually learned a few new things on this tour and the guide (Calum) was really warm and personable and able to answer questions easily. I especially liked seeing examples of all the cask experimentation that Glen Moray does. When it came time for the tastes, we got to pick one from their core 3 range, and the guide picked one from the rest to share with us. I knew I was also going to purchase their £20 tasting of four very limited edition pours so I chose their most basic Glen Moray Classic for my tour tasting. It was surprisingly good! But then our guide gave us a whisky finished in Chenin Blanc that blew me away. I had to buy a bottle of that. When it came time to pour my 4 limited edition drams, Calum knew the Chenin Blanc was already in there (showing just how generous he was with our group!) so he let me substitute that with one of their "bottle your own" casks from the back of the shop. That ended up being another highlight. I loved everything I tried, but bought a bottle of the Peated PX finish too using the "bottle your own" experience and that was really special. They let you write the label yourself and watch the bottling and sealing right in front of you and then packed it in a beautiful wooden box to take home. All that for only £55 and I thought that was the best whisky I've ever had. There's so much left to explore with Glen Moray so I would go back every time I'm in the area. Very impressed!

Our tour was conducted by Calum who was very informative and at the same time informal, he’s very knowledgeable about Glen Moray & the malt whisky industry in general. Plenty of time was allowed for questions at each stage of the tour.

Having been at school in Morayshire, this wasn’t my first distillery tour, however everything I had been told in the past seemed to come together under Callum’s guidance.

The tasting was most enjoyable, my choice being the Glen Moray 15 year old followed by Callum’s choice of a limited edition Barolo Cask whisky, both were excellent.

The cost of the tour was £7.00 per person including the tasting which is incredibly good value.

I am a long standing customer of Glen Moray single malt. So, why is it that suddenly it has started to taste rather like Talisker? Yuk ! Has someone been adulterated with iodine malts from Skye? The bottle I have (purchased last week at ASDA in Bournemouth) resembles nothing that I have tasted from Speyside.
The alarm bells ought to be ringing very loudly in Elgin today.
I ticked that I had visited the Centre because it was the only way I could post something. No one answers the phone at head office. Some one needs to do something about this situation.

We've visited Glen Moray several times before, it's one of the best in terms of value for money.

This visit was for a lunch and tastings only - due to Covid restrictions, pre-booking is highly recommended.

The food and the whisky is of good quality and very well priced. Our party enjoyed a light lunch followed by three different 'flights' of whisky at prices to suit all.

Always enjoy a trip to Glen Moray! Good selection of gifts in the shop too..

(Sensible and secure Covid precautions in place, by the way.)

a great day out!! we went to the Glen Moray Distillery tour on a short trip to Elgin/Inverness and would absolutely recommend!! Our tour guide fiona went above and beyond to ensure everyone was on board, informed, and enjoying the tour and made sure to answer any queries! She had more than enough knowledge and showed a real passion for the distillery and her job which was so lovely to see, definitely made a difference!!

To add to our praise for Fiona, she even helped out visitors on our tour who weren’t fluent in English to ensure they got the same experience! this was amazing to see and a really nice touch to ensure everyone is welcome.

Myself and partner don’t even drink whiskey but we still enjoyed going along to find out more about the business, its process, and giving it a try! the tour included 2x taster of different whiskeys that they sell at home in their distillery and the store shop had plenty on offer including some special flavours.

Great value for money and much cheaper than other distillery tours in the area.

They even provide drivers packs for an additional £3 which includes 4 glass bottles to transfer your whiskey into to take home with you if you can’t enjoy it at the time! this was a real nice touch and allowed everyone to get the most of out of the tour.

Thank you to Fiona and everyone at the distillery for having us and making our day special! We will be back!

Unfortunately, in these strange times of Covid, the tour was not available. However, don't let that stop you from visiting. The restaurant and shop are fully open and their remains a couple of viewing areas into the world of a working distillery that ferments a good whisky.

In the Visitor Centre, it was very good value for the small breakfast of Lorne sausage and a fried egg, with toast. As a senior citizen it filled me adequately in the middle of the day to then check out the single malts across the multipurpose cafe / shop. There I ended up buying 9 different bottles.

Very enjoyable and informative tour. We’re not whisky drinkers but found the experience very interesting. Our guide Yola was very knowledgable and did her best to answer some tricky questions from others on the tour!

The tour also included two drams each at the end, which we thought was very good considering the tour only cost £7 each. They also offer a pack containing some clear tubes for £2 so that you can take your samples away to taste later - ideal if you’re driving.

Visited whilst passing through Elgin so unfortunately not enough time to take the tour. But had a flight of whiskey in the shop area and can not fault the staff and Covid precautions in place.
We purchased some items in the shop, and when we got back to England realised we wanted a couple more hats not on the website. My wife called and spoke to Hannah who sorted us out taking our payment on the phone and posting the items.
Will definitely visit again and do the tour.
