Called in on a day visit to Arran. Great little shop, we were able to watch them making the cheese, tasted samples and bought some lovely cheese.

We went here to buy cheese to take home and have an ice cream. They have a lot of their cheeses in bowls for tasting. We bought cheddar with raspberries, brie (silver medal of best Scottisch cheese) and blue cheese (gold medal of best Scottish cheese). The lady in the shop was very kind and helpfull. We also bought a cup of ice cream (we went for the Arran Gold : vanilla ice cream with whiskey) and we ate it during our walk from the shop into Brodick. It was very good (the walk and the ice cream).

There is an outstanding selection of cheeses and it is hard to choose what to buy. However, the freebies helped as what I choose was very different from my usual purchases. The staff there today could not have been more helpful

We came to Arran with family who do not walk and relied on busses. We should have hired a car.
Ferry to, and from, Arran was great, calm seas, perfect.
We went to the tourist office as we wanted to visit the Cheese Shop, "Bus in 2 minutes or a 30 minute walk". No chance for the walk so we got the bus.
Visited the Cheese Shop, saw them dipping cheeses, bought some cheese and went back to the bus stop via a small cafe next door.
No more busses until "the return to the ferry" bus.
So our 30 minute visit to the shop ended up as a two, odd, hour wait for a bus back to go home.
Not the Cheese Shops fault but a big lesson in "Got that wrong".
We did try to phone a taxi or six. Some no longer taxis all either busy or no answer. Our bad.
When we return to Arran, we will use a car, we would pop back here as the cheese we bought was very nice. IMHO

Went and bought various cheeses however the Brie and Camembert taste like soap? Very confused, wonder if they came from Aaran aromatics next door! Other cheese is lovely though.

Fantastic and yummy cheese. Hampers available and on line ordering. Some so different you can't get in local shops at home. Pepper cheese yum yum!

This is a great little shop and definitely worth a visit, particularly if you love cheese! There are loads of varieties of cheese, as well as other things to buy (include oatcakes, haggis and sweet treats). There are free samples of all the cheeses that you can buy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I spent far too much money in this shop, but I have no regrets!
