This castle is off the beaten path - it doesn't show on road maps, and the GPS didn't have it, but even though we were pretty sure we were lost, Google maps got us there. This involves an easy walk on a nice trail from...More

Just old walls. No explanation of its history or who owns it. the only saving grace is you can shelter from the wind. with little else to do in this area you could visit for 5 minutes.

The castle is a ruin of course, but surprisingly you can go inside and walk around. Just a little walk to get there from the free car park. Fantastic views. Without doubt the highlight is its own "private" cove. Worth going on a beautiful day.

Fun castle ruin to visit. Very picturesque spot for a walk. Not a lot of info provided - just a couple of signs. Easy parking and easy, short walk to ruins.

Beautiful, one of my 17year old daughters favorite castles/places visited. Worth tackling the weather.

Bring your jacket as the wind gets vicious because, y'know, you're right on the edge of the ocean as you stand in these deserted ruins of a castle hundreds of years old. There's about a 250m walk along a rutted country track, with a few...More

Crumbling castle built on crumbly promontory of sedimentary rock. Beautiful location with great views.

You'll be amazed by the formation of the sea rocks and how they are being mirrored in the structure of Sinclair Castle. There will be some information on the walk leading from the parking lot to the castle. Feel free to walk around and explore...More

These ruins are off the beaten track and not signposted so you need to look, but wow, so well worth the effort. A small car park and then quite a pleasant medium length walk through private property along the hill top to reach the ruins....More

Very interesting castle with cliff-top walks. The information boards about the castle and the wildlife are excellent. Views are really good, especially with Noss Head lighthouse in the background. There are many different birds and the odd seal to enjoy as well. There are no...More

Interesting castle set on the cliff tops near wick. We visited on a very dry day, would imagine would be quite slippery if it had been raining, but very achievable with some sensible shoes. Only let down was a bit untidy with scaffolding (unattached pieces(...More
