You'll be amazed by the formation of the sea rocks and how they are being mirrored in the structure of Sinclair Castle. There will be some information on the walk leading from the parking lot to the castle. Feel free to walk around and explore...More

These ruins are off the beaten track and not signposted so you need to look, but wow, so well worth the effort. A small car park and then quite a pleasant medium length walk through private property along the hill top to reach the ruins....More

Very interesting castle with cliff-top walks. The information boards about the castle and the wildlife are excellent. Views are really good, especially with Noss Head lighthouse in the background. There are many different birds and the odd seal to enjoy as well. There are no...More

This is a classic ruin of a castle on the wind and sea swept shores of Caithness. Formerly the home to Clan Sinclair one can only imagine the feet that have trodden the path over the stones in the entrance over the centuries. It's a...More

As we were on the NC500 you can't miss the ruïns of this old castle. It's a very small walk to the castle and you can roam freely around, but beware of the dangerous places as you will be warned for it. Take time to...More

We drove up. I'm not sure if there is or not. The drive up was actually quite nice. The roads are good and the scenery was beautiful. There's also a lot of places that you can stop, if you're on the train you're going to... More
