A short walk along gravel from car park allows views of sea cliffs and the peninsula on which the castle was built. Good explanation boards show history and suggests the interior layout.

Good ruined castle with information spread around the area about the wildlife and an artist's impression showing the castle as a working entity. Parking is available beside a short trail to the castle.

After a ten minute walk from the car park Castle Sinclair comes into view and I'm soon walking round these ancient ruins. I'd say you can freely explore 80% of the castle as around 20% is off limits due to safetly but to be able...More

I was excited to see this because I am a Sinclair, and visiting Scotland was something of a pilgrimage for me. It is a bit difficult to find, but its isolation and the quiet, majestic ruins of the castle make it an amazing visit even...More

Rushed down here after dinner (after reading the encouraging reviews) to catch the sunset (22:00!). No tourists, and the castle was lit up by the setting sun - well worth it.

Like the old joke, why did they build the castle so close to the airport... Getting there involves a detour around the boundary of Wick airport which could put you off if just passing by but it’s well worth it. The info boards do a...More

You walk along a path at the edge of a field. There were no restrictions when we visited. The path was a little muddy due to rain but otherwise perfect walkable with sensible footwear. There are boards situated near the... More
