An eclectic mix of exhibits showcasing the history of Wick. Large collection of photographs spanning the history of Wick and the rise and fall of the herring fleet. The old light house mechanism and light/lens are housed here. Happy to pay the 4 pound entrance...More
The museum gives a fascinatiing insight into the history of Wick - especially the fishing industry... the video of the process used to prepare herring for export was fascinating - from the use of rough salt to make the fish easier to hold when being...More

The enthusiasm of the volunteers draws you in and the whole museum is chock fill of stories.
We spent over two hours...More
Welcomed in and given a 10 minute walk through so we could make best use of our time! Lots of interesting material but for me the Herring Fishing Industry was the highlight. The Lighthouse Lamp was seriously impressive too!
Visited the Heritage Museum, and found it a hidden treasure. Not only the photographic depiction of the town’s people from the 1860’s, but the heart of the town. It takes you thru the ages, thru economy and hard times. The volunteers were charming and eager...More

I don't remember exactly, but it wasn't very much and it was well worth paying a little to experience the most comprehensive museum I've seen in a long time, if ever. You will not be sorry you visited.
