We enjoyed this castle very much! This is not the grand castle you read about in fairy tales, it is a large manor house with down to earth, yet regal furnishings of a time, and a lovely walled garden buzzing with colour and bees, smelling...More

From the warm, enthusiastic welcome at the castle door through each room we had guides who were proactive and interactive in giving stories to make the castle come to life. We were lucky to benefit from also having one of the Queen Mothers old friends,...More

On the whole, we enjoyed our visit to this castle, especially having watched The Crown. The gardens are lovely and the castle is well worth a visit. However, some of the staff could do with a lesson on customer service. In particular, the old fellow...More

We aren't particularly Royalist or anything but OH and I both found this visit really interesting. Not generally fans of guided tours either but this one was pretty good. Lots of interesting details. And a nice wander round the gardens
