To be honest, I didn't even know that we were in Nelson Mandela Place -after leaving from Hard Rock Cafe- before I saw plate on the wall. Lot to see and do nearby, so why not stop here at the same time. It's always a...More

The relevance of Nelson Mandela Place is that the South African Consulate was based in the Stock Exchange building in the corner of the square. The naming was quite symbolic as any mail the Apartheid Consulate received would be addressed to Nelson Mandela Place. An...More

Yes, to honour Nelson Mandela by giving the street name but... should it be an attraction in Tripadvisor?, common....... The plaque of the street name is on the left side of the entrance of St.George's Tron

Yes this is a good place to remember this most famous politician and world statesman although one would have thought that further information or statue could have been Commissioned to be placed here

A lovely Street or mini square in a great bustling part of town off Buchanan. Gorgeous intricate facades tower above you, performance artists abound, cool shops and plenty of eateries. No statue to Mandela that I could see but a nice area.

Didn't know what I'll find really. Kept walking to and fro past it. Then realised that it is simply an open place. All that indicates that this is Nelson Mandela place is the sign. I gave it 5 stars for its significance of course! Good...More

Street in the heart of Glasgow with impressive architecture that is a pleasant place to stroll through when in town. Culturally this is significant in Glasgow and if anyone wants to learn more about Mandelas relationship with Glasgow the Mitchell Library at Charing Cross in...More

This Square was renamed in 1986 when many political leaders in the west and their crony newspapers regarded him as a terrorist and the best place for him was prison. Now it is a place to go to give your kids a history lesson. Mandela...More
