Fossil Grove, located within Glasgow's Victoria Park, houses the fossilized remnants of an extensive ancient forest. Discovered on the site in 1887, the fossilized tree stumps are thought to be more than 300 million years old. Housed in a small corner of the attractive Victoria Park in the west of the city, the fossils are open to the public from noon til 5pm, April to September

A typical Glasgow park. Open grassy areas. Trees. Childrens playpark which has been much improved. Fossil grove and gardens are interesting. Have fun.

This park used to be a great place to visit, however now seems to be overflowed with rubbish and no park attendants to clear overflowing bins or keep gardens tidy. The ice cream van also may provide good ice cream but at extraordinary high prices....More

This is a disgrace to Glasgow. The fossil grove mainly closed. The old quarry and pond walk is a skeleton of former years and obviously has never been tended the way it used to be with a colourful display. What a disappointment. Some areas of...More

We went for a walk on a beautiful May weekend with the children. Flowers were in full bloom and the fossilised trees (open only from 12pm! ) were great. It's a nice park, a bit overlooked by the likes of the Botanic Gardens or Pollok...More

Glasgow is lucky to have so many parks and this one has the added advantage of having a grove of fossil trees, many millions of years old and accessible to anyone who wants to see them.
