First of all the staff are great and really friendly and the place is always busy on weekends however the whole place is in need of some tlc. The table we were sat at had filthy menus and the table was sticky despite it already being wiped. you could not lay you hands on the table it was that bad. We were a group of four for lunch and the food was average at best. The thai fishcakes were bland and certainly never tasted one ounce of thai flavourings. The burgers in here when the place first opened were amazing. With so many burger places in glasgow killing it unfortunately stratas burgers have been left behind. The toilets which always tells a story about a place can only be described as disgusting. This place has so much potential and could be great again if management conducted an overhall of the place.

Having last been to Strata many years ago when it was this awful generic hedkandi playing soul sucker of a place I had pretty much ignored its existence. But then seeing it has had a makeover popped in for a Saturday couple of pints and a snack. Its is now great. The delicious gratifying fluffy Bao buns (I had the haddock with sriracha mayo) were a steal at I think £5 and friendly laid back staff and a decent pint of Heineken. Nice ambience, decent indie tunes on. I didnt have a cocktail but the menu looked pretty creative and worth a try. Recommended!

After an initial mix up the evening and following days lunch were superb. Never mind the cocktails go to Strata for the original twists and superb menu. Highly recommend the Sea Bream. The service is attentive and comes with a smile, Louise is efficient and very helpful nothing is too much trouble. We will remember our trip to Strata and my husband has been tracking down lemon balm so that he can try to recreate the Strata experience.

Itison lunch deal. Reserved in advance.
Shown to our table which had a dire view of a grim back lane. Don't know why we bothered booking in advance if thats where they dump you.
Waiter said the steak and pork belly had a supplement. So we Ordered the fish as a main to avoid the supplement. When our bill arrived we were charged a supplement. Called over the manageress who said it was the fish that attracted the supplement , not the pork belly. Told her that we were told the opposite when ordering. She genuinely couldn't have given a monkeys. So we were made to pay
Service was slow but the food was fine.
A mocha ordered after the meal had to be returned as it was little more than luke- warm. They didn't seem to like that.
Overall this could have been a nice experience but it wasn't . If matters had been handled differently we would have been a little more contented. But because of this we'll never be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. With so many other great places in the city why would you go somewhere that treats you like this. Utterly pathetic.

Booked a table for Friday 19th August '16 for 12 people at 7pm. The night out was to celebrate my last day at work before starting a new job. When I called at 6:50 to say we would be 10mins late I was told there was no booking and that they were full. The restaurant would not / could not accommodate us at all and we were in the situation of people having traveled to Glasgow and now had no where booked for dinner.
On booking two weeks prior to the 19th the girl who had taken the booking said 7pm was fine and they had another booking around that time and if anyone wanted the special deal I was to call a couple of days ahead, no-one wanted the special deal so no need to call. The girl took my number and said see you on the 19th.
Absolutely appalled.

We booked this venue for a hen party for a group of 13 ladies for 7pm. We paid for a 2 course dinner & a cocktail master class. On arrival we should have been met with a welcome cocktail but the staff had to be prompted after half an hour for our drink. The cocktail class was not set up for our arrival, we had to wait for them doing so. The cocktail class should have lasted 45mins to an hour, it lasted a total of 2.5hrs!!! Also within this time we had to prompt staff to take our food order several times and we had a further wait for our meal. Our meal was not served until 945pm, with the cocktail class still on going. With the delays throughout the night it caused us to miss out on other plans we had made for later on. We asked to speak to a manager (a couple of times) on the night so we could voice our disappointment of the evening but no one seemed to know who was in charge, the full night seemed a bit of a shambles. The young boy left doing the cocktail class did not have any rapport with our group and quite frankly I felt sorry for him. We have since spoken to the manager and he agrees and sympathies with many of our points including his member of staff was 'out of his comfort zone' (so why let him run a class??). He didn't offer a good will gesture of a way of apology, he has blamed the busyness of the bar. NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Went here for lunch and was very disappointed. I was served cold soup and stale bread. To be fair the waiter was very apologetic and sorted it but it shouldn't have happened. The tables were sticky so I sat with a napkin under my arms to save my blouse getting dirty. The whole place is sadly neglected and could do with a good clean.

Me and my friend popped into strata for some lunch (well was going too) we normally come here after work, with friends and the odd drink as we enjoy it! We had given the place a chance as our first visit a long time ago was terrible but there was improvements
It was during the day on the 8th (Tuesday) the restaurant was very quite and about two tables in. The waitress on shift, quite small black hair her attitude was terrible. We chose to sit in the back part as we have sat there before and liked it, when we said this the waitres was shocked and could tell she never wanted us to sit there. When she came with the menus she said " do you's not want to sit down stairs no?" When we said no, she then blurred off what the soup was ! me and my friend thought there's NO way we are going to sit and have lunch feeling uncomfortable knowing the waitress did not want us to sit there.
Now I've had a few experiences due to your staff so I would look into that for the business's benefit.

You lost two good customers.
I won't be back :(

I have been to Strata many many times and it's definitely one of my favorite places in Glasgow. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great and the cocktails are absolutely amazing! I have never left disappointed! Love it!

I was looking for a deal on Groupon to take my friends out to celebrate one of our birthdays and came across Strata Afternoon Tea with cocktails which sounded just perfect. Unfortunately it wasn’t. The sandwiches and cocktails were lovely but the scones and cakes were cold, rock hard and had the look about them that they had been frozen. Services was also very slow and it was practically empty, when we complained about the scones and cakes the waitress went to see the chief. On her return she apologised saying the chief had said they were yesterdays and were maybe in the fridge too long and offered us cocktails to make up for this. We took up this offer and had another cocktail. But to say Strata is award-winning is abit too much when it isn’t that hard to make fresh scones and cupcakes everyday when reservations have been made for afternoon tea. Wont be taking my friends there again!!

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry we let you down with the afternoon tea. We make dozens of fresh cakes and scones every morning, there was no reason for you to get one of the previous days batch. I have taken measures to ensure that doesn't happen again. Glad the staff made an effort to appease you, it doesn't seem to have worked. I'll be pleased to get you and a friend in for a complimentary afternoon tea if you wish, just ask for me when you call to book it. We are award winning so i'm afraid it's not too much to say that we are, it's just a matter of fact. Best wishes Vinnie
