Some of the university buildings are ugly and stand out in a negative way; however, the period buildings are well worth seeing. I particularly recommend St Salvaror's Quadrangle and Chapel on North Streeet. Go right inside and wander round. It is a peaceful oasis. If...More

The University of St Andrews is one of the best universities in Britain. Built in the 1400’s it is perfectly positioned near St Andrews Golf Course, the Cathedral ruins, the castle ruins and the town centre. The campus buildings look like magnificent old manors, churches...More

Many diverse and beautiful buildings make up the campus of USA (University of St. Andrews). Reputed to be the third best university in the United Kindgom after Oxford and Cambridge. It's presence gives the town some energy and a diversion from golf.

We visited our niece, who is graduating this year. We were so impressed with the university and the grounds. Needless to say, with such an old school, there are many historic areas and stories she shared about the students' customs. A definite must-see!

Saw the small entrance of the busy street and walked through to find a huge courtyard, grassed, with many students soaking up the sun. Surprised hao quiet and relaxed it seemed. Very old buildings. Locals friendly. Enjoyed the walk around. Take a look if you...More

This is the oldest University in Scotland, steeped in history and central to the town. The students mingle in easily with the townsfolk and swell the numbers during term time. Many of the students wander around with their bright, red gowns on, especially if events...More

St. Andrews wouldn’t be so special without this famous university. Throughout the town are university buildings, with students, often dressed in their red gowns, moving around throughout the day.
