We visited the Falkirk Wheel and then walked up the path to the canal where there are signs to the Antonine Wall. Very little to see, apart from some information plaques, compared to Roman sites near Hadrian's Wall. It is a nice walk and worth doing...More

The fort is quite well signposted and is a pleasant walk up from the road. Problem is that once you get there you’re like - eh ? The outlook is good and the view of the Antonine Wall is quite amazing. However all the fort...More

We come here regularly to walk as a family and its always interesting to see the wall and the remains of the fort, along with some of the defences. Its mainly open grass and woodland, and can get quite muddy, so wear sturdy footwear.

This is a short walk from the wheel and on a nice day it has some lovely views. The roman fort is worth a visit as it is quite unique.

never heard of it until I visited the Falkirk Wheel and decided to have a walk around sections of it. As I understand it, it was built as the frontier of the Roman Empire. I only visited a small section that runs alongside the Falkirk...More

Its taken half a century to visit a section of the Wall, we are glad we did. imagination needed in places but pleasant walks and visual evidence of the fort and ditch takes you back in time. A great place.

Having visited the Roman Exhibition at Callendar House, I took the kids to see the remnants of part of the Antonine Wall. The exhibition helped them to understand how the wall was built and why. It is very worthwhile to visit the exhibition prior to...More

All the above advice. There really isn't much left of the actual wall. In fact I have seen none of the wall but only plaques where the fort and wall once were. But it is a pleasant area and an easy walk to the area near... More
