Went for afternoon tea on Sunday, was very disappointed in the tea room, the decor is stunning but the tables and chairs looked like they would be more suited to McDonald’s than a stately home. Staff were not very cheerful or attentive, we were not...More

Excellent as a museum, teaching you history and customs of Falkirk and Scotland. Beautiful park land with swans and ducks on the lake. Lovely place for a walk.

Beautiful house with lots of stories. Rooms full of information about the house. Had a nice guided tour of the kitchen where scenes from "Outlander" were filmed.

Unfortunately this is somewhat overshadowed by the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. Do not miss visiting Callendar House - it is free. The presentations in each room depict Falkirk from its earliest times to present day and the history of this town is simply amazing....More

Close to Linlithgow and we knew the kitchen scene from Outlander, so off we go. This house is in a park (located next to some rather low-income looking apartment towers, fwiw), but they won't obstruct your photos. Anyway, free parking, and free admission. Turn left...More
