Another nice Edinburgh statue. It is just there is so many they all get lost and overlooked. I wouldn't go out of my way unless you have an interest.

Stopped by while walking on the royal mile. We looked at the statue and read the plaque, then moved on. Unless you’re a dedicated fan of Ferguson’s, I wouldn’t go out of my way to see the statue. It is a lovely statue, though.

We came across this statue on the way back from the Scottish Parliament. It looks like it is in motion, and it is situated on the sidewalk. Very interesting.

A small statue situated towards the end of the Royal Mile near Hollyrood Palace. Standing by itself seemingly out of place.

I was so alone in the city when I found this young man! He didn't even say a word but he makes me so much company for a while! 😂

Well-sculpted, along the street, in front on a very old church and cemetery, plus some poetry, all for free. Pleasant, but don't go out of your way.

Steer sculpture glorifies those who have achieved some greatness and contributes to the built environment. It also helps to educate. I saw this statue in front of the Canongate Church and learned that Robert Ferguson was a famous Scottish poet and he is in fact...More

My wife and I happened upon this state on our trek up and down the Royal Mile. There is a plaque giving information on Robert Fergusson. We were happy to see the plaque as we were unfamiliar with him.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
