This has got to be the best shortbread I have ever had. The atmosphere in the shop is quaint and inviting. When you walk it, it smells like sweet butter. The lady working (owner? baker?) was really nice and friendly. Stop in and pick up...More

I've a love hate relationship with butter. I love eating it, but it stays on my waistline. Stepping into the shop filled with butter in the oven is heavenly. We ate 4 pieces right inside the shop before getting more to take home. What can...More

This place is dedicated only to shortbread cookies. It smells so wonderful when you walk inside. There are a variety of flavors to choose from and they are all fresh. The traditional one is the kind I had and it was fantastic. The only down...More

How can one shortbread be "that" different from another? Well my friend and I certainly found out that indeed there is a superior shortbread. After reading reviews here we took a trip to taste for ourselves...Haha we went back a second time. The shortbread is...More

The lovely wife and I visited the shop. It's small, a single room with the lady in the back mixing her dough. I could have stayed all day. The smell as you walk in is so wonderful. The lady was friendly and happy to talk...More

What a little gem in Edinburgh. This is a small shop just off the Royal Mile, heading towards Holyrood Castle. Freshly baked shortbread. The smell is divine and the variety of flavours of shortbread unique and delicious . They melt in your mouth. The fennel...More

The heavenly smell as you walk in is enough reason to visit, but the melt-in-your-mouth delicious shortbread is more than enough to have us coming back for more. We tried a few different flavour combinations, but the all-butter classic was our favourite. Bought some toffee...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
