We took a bus here from our B&B at our hosts recommendation. It was a bit of a hike through the actually beautiful fields to find the entrance, but well worth it. Such history took place here! We wandered all around the castle and grounds....More

With time to spend and looking for an attraction near to Edinburgh we decided on a visit here and what a good idea it was. Brilliant setting, friendly staff and a marvellously well preserved ruin of a castle. Lots to see, climb and explore.

According to the Historic Scotland website: Visitors' dogs are allowed at Craigmillar Castle, but are not permitted in roofed areas. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and not left unattended. A no fouling rule... More
