No crowds, just amazing views. Easy bus ride from Edinburgh and a lovely walk through a rolling field and woods. So many nooks and crannies to explore in the castle and very interesting history.

Took the bus to Craigmillar castle a couple miles out of town. Walk through the park (5-10 minutes) to the stunning castle. Well preserved castle. Practically to ourselves. Easy to imagine living back in the day. Well worth the trip!!
