It was cool to take a picture with this statue of Sherlock Holmes. It makes me sad that more great stories and characters aren't in the public domain for reinterpretation. Sherlock Holmes has been foundational for modern mystery literature and fiction in general.

Designed in the stereotypical fashion of a detective with deerskin outfit, pipe and magnifying glass. This statue is situated opposite the building were Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born, this statue is well worth a visit for Sherlock Holmes fans.

The statute gets lost among the parking lot and shrubbery so keep an eye out of it. It is a must see while in Edinburgh.

Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to

have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything

even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The
