Well worth a visit if your staying in & around Edinburgh. Our favourite walk starts at the carpark at Threipmuir Reservoir just south of Balerno. It's a 3 hour walk over the moor on a well worn path to West Kip, East Kip & Scald...More

This is a lovely part of the Pentland Hills near to Balerno. I'm a member of the fishing club for Harlaw and part of Threipmuir and it's one of my favourite places anywhere. Unfortunately at the weekend there's sometimes a lot of 'neds' camping, drinking,...More

Living locally the Pentland Hills make a very pleasant walk and not too arduous. There are several books describing walks in these hills and well worth investing in one. A walk by the reservoirs also make a pleasant stroll

My most fond memory of this trip was here. Was in Colinton which is where the Poet's walk can be found and saw signs for this park which looked like a large green spot on the map so I decided to go find it. Walked...More

If you like walking I would recommend a trip to the Pentlands. Plenty of choice in what walk to take on. Some walks you come across pretty steep hills. In a nice sunny day the views of Edinburgh are amazing. I would also say take...More

Quick and easy trip from the city centre on the 44 bus. Beautiful views and you can see the highland coos too! Lovely reservoirs and small waterfalls. Be prepared for a bit of mud if its been raining.

Only information centre is closed. As it a park, there's no opening times as such - you can come and enjoy paths and hills whenever you like :) Restaurant-pub near by is open 7days as well.
