The first thing you notice on arrival in Helensburgh is how difficult it is to find the start of the way, in fact we never did, but it is actually very well sign posted throughout this part of the cycle. All of the route up...More

The developers have done an excellent job marking this long distance walk (LDW) with high quality well-placed markers. However, if you are considering walking the whole 130+ miles, you need some tips from experienced ramblers, and a copy of the Rucksack Readers guidebook. I've done...More

Great walk and amazing scenery, managed the whole route in ten days which we enjoyed. We used Steve at the JMW baggage transfer service, good price and great service.

We have been visiting the Edinburgh/North Berwick area for a number of years and always try to incorporate some walking on the John Muir Way, even though today had gale force winds it was still nice to walk along the coast on an excellent pathway.

According to those with whom we spoke while walking the John Muir Way, May and September we're deemed the best. We began on April 28 and finished on May 9 and had great weather and no crowds.
