Had planned on staying for a while, but it ended up a quick walk around and a visit to the toilets. Piper was there, probably the best thing there, just a tour bus stop now, lines everywhere.

Disappointed to see how commercial this place has become. Not even the pipers were there... instead we had Justin Bieber and Tayla Swift blaring out of a portable radio. Everywhere self service and mediocre, not even a microwave available to nuke some life in to...More

Visited the day before our wedding to see the building - really interesting and definitely felt lovely to carry on the elopement tradition the next day. Our wedding itself was fantastic - exactly the minimum fuss we were hoping for, made really simple for us...More

This has been going since 1754 and weddings are still done here. Maybe before 1870 there was only the blacksmith as the time line only goes back to 1874 when the present day owners ancestors run it. It is a family business and now even...More

9am to 6pm June to September 9am to 5pm rest of year but I would always check their website. If there is a wedding, the room where it is being held is closed to the public.
